[Backtrack] Seting Modem Menggunakan usb modeswitch dan wvdial

Saya mencoba modem ZTE AC2726i di sistem operasi linux backtrack 4 r2, pada awalnya ada kendala, karena secara default tidak didukung, maka dari itu saya mengakalinya dengan usb_modeswitch yang merupakan salah satu aplikasi alternatif untuk menyambung modem dari berbagai vendor di linux kita.


Cek device modemo usb nya :

kemudian ekstrak file download usb_modeswitch-1.0.2.tar.bz2tadi
tar -xjf usb_modeswitch-1.0.2.tar.bz2

kemudian masuk ke dalam direktori hasil ekstrak tadi dan install

maka akan tampil
mkdir -p /usr/sbin

install ./usb_modeswitch

/usr/sbin mkdir -p /etc

install ./usb_modeswitch.conf /etc

berikutnya masuk ke usb_modeswitch yang sudah terinstal tadi

dari usb_modeswitch dapat kita lihat berbagai macam vendor modem yang menjadi dukungannya

setelah itu aktifkan usb_modeswitch-nya dan deteksi id produk modem

pada mode di atas merupakan penginisialisasi produk dari vendor modem, karena  “19d2″ sebagai kode vendor dan “fff5″ adalah kode produk, kode “fff5″ pada hasil perintah diatas adalah modem kita dideteksi oleh linux sebagai savely remove drive (media penyimpan) bukan sebagai modem internet pada saat itulah perintah diatas kode produk diubah “fff5″ menjadi “fff1″ yang artinya modem tidak lagi dikenali sebagai safety remove drive tetapi sebagai modem internet.

kemudian jalankan wvdial

    1. usbmodeswitch untuk konfigurasi modemnya mas, sedangkan wvdial untuk konfigurasi ataupun settingan kartu providernya punya mas.
